Attorney Eric W. Janson

Attorney Eric W. JansonA graduate of Roanoke College (B.A., 1975) and New York Law School (J.D. Cum Laude, 1981), Eric has been a practicing attorney since 1981. He has completed advanced training in tax and estate planning. He is admitted to practice in New Hampshire and Vermont and taught estate planning in the general practice program as an adjunct professor at Vermont Law School from 1994 to 2014.

Eric’s practice focuses on wills, trusts and estate planning. Each plan is tailored to the client's specific needs. He works with clients to ensure that all important details are considered. Fees are discussed in advance and clients are assured of accurate, current and thorough legal protection.

Eric served as a panelist on a New Hampshire Bar Association Continuing Legal Education program titled “Essentials of Estate Planning” in November, 2016.

Eric gave a presentation on Healthcare Power of Attorney and Living Wills to residents of Quail Hollow, a senior living community, in September, 2016.

Eric has served on the following boards:

  • Lebanon Opera House as President (2010–2011), Chair of the Development Committee (2014–2015) and as a member of the Board of Directors from 2009–2014.
  • The Children’s Center of the Upper Valley and Hospice of the Upper Valley.

Eric has been a member of the National Ski Patrol since 1989. He enjoys skiing, hiking, biking and photography.

Eric recently received the “Five Star Wealth Manager” designation based on a survey of 65,000 homes and 3,500 financial services professionals from NH Magazine.

SmartGiving, the magazine of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, featured Eric along with a financial planner and an enrolled agent in an article on establishing charitable reminder trusts with appreciated real property.

Eric’s article “Estate Planning for Pets” appeared in the magazine Four Legs and a Tail, a periodical for pet owners in New Hampshire and Vermont.
